This infographic details how speeding while on the road can inevitably lead to serious injuries. With increased speed, your ability to stop and even steer properly can decrease. It was reported in 2017 that 9,717 people in the United States were killed by accidents involving speeding. 97% of all Traffic fatalities are caused by speeding motorists. If the average driving speed is decreased by 1%, the overall rate of crashes would decreased by 5%. So what are the main factors that lead to speeding? Driver issues, road damages and even vehicle related factors among a few others. A driver could be in a rush to make it to an appointment on time, the road may not be good quality and the motorist could be driving a powerful car. A few risks of speeding are loss of vehicle control, potential criminal charges from driving recklessly and increases in insurance premiums.
